Arts & Crafts bureau made by the Brynmawr Furniture Makers with a good fitted interior. Made of oak and oak ply with the label to the back stating designed by Paul Matt.
The Brynmawr factory was founded by Quakers to give work to unemployed miners and only lasted for a short period between 1929 - 1940. During this short time they produced some beautiful antique furniture.
Height 106cms. Width 84cms. Depth 49cms and 51cms at the handles.
The writing height at the fall front is 76cms.
The condition is good with a working lock. There are some very old and dead woodworm holes to the ply at the back and the base of two of the drawers. This could be replaced but preference is usually to be left original. PLEASE NOTE, RED HOUSE ANTIQUES HAS NOW RETIRED.
