Lovely Arts & Crafts gong with the stand in the shape of a mythical sea serpent or smiling fish on an oak base. This supports a silver plated brass round gong. It has its original wooden striker The fish is made of copper plated brass
Stamped for the maker James Cartland and Sons of Birmingham. Founded in 1823 as Dyer and Cartland and in production until 1955.
Height 37cms. The base measures 24cms x 18cms
