ARTS AND CRAFTS OAK CHAIR c1890-1910.

This is an Arts and Crafts oak carver from the late Victorian period. A great example this style at this point was influeced by the Scottish influence and designs from C.R. Macintosh and the rest of the Glasgow four at this point. The design has great similarities with scottish vernacular clan chairs and their design influence that was being brought to the wider market at this time. It has a sea grass seat and is a lovely thing.
