Arts and Crafts 'Caxton' magazine rack in Oak made for Liberty and appears in the Yuletide Gifts catalogue Xmas 1903/4. Serial number 497 and also marked by maker to the u/s "Christmas ???" . Fold out Oak flaps and a small pullout drawer at each end, one for cigarettes and one for pipes, small book rack to the under side. Originally, it would have had a sliding book end in the book rack and a simple rod mechanism to the u/s to stop the flaps opening quickly when being carried - both of these have long since been removed.
Lovely Light Oak colour, no damage and or worm or old repairs.
Presented cleaned and lightly re- waxed.
