Arts and Crafts oak gothic hall wardrobe

This is simply fantastic. The hall wardrobe was made bespoke by a carpenter, probably in the nineteen fifties or nineteen sixties. It is utter quality and the great pity is that he hasn't signed his work. I have the matching library bookcase which I am also offering for sale on a separate listing so do check this out.
The hall robe is made in solid oak. You know it is quality when you see that the planks in the planked back are also made in solid oak. No expense has been spared in the construction. The wardrobe is in the Gothic /Arts and Crafts style. The gothic 'window' motif is hand carved. The door has inset panelling. The oak is limed. The style is deceptively simple but very sophisticated. Look at the quality heavy iron hinges and latch handle. Inside, the wardrobe is fitted with a full length rail and has a mirror to the back of the door.
The condition is very good. The oak is well polished.
If you have a period house, particularly one furnished in oak or Arts and Crafts then this hall wardrobe will be a statement piece.
The wardrobe is 36.5 inches wide and 78 inches high and 21 inches deep.
