Arts and Crafts Upholstered Oak Desk Chair Arts and Crafts Chair Oak Chair Desk chair %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
We have for sale a very attractive and decorative late Victorian or early Edwardian arts and crafts upholstered oak desk chair.

This quite imposing, heavy and very sturdy quartered oak arts and crafts desk chair is of a square form with a back consisting of a top rail beautifully decorated with a carved art nouveau botanically inspired frieze over a central rail with two heart shaped piercings over three short tulip shaped slats each pierced with a heart. These slats extend downwards to a green leather/leatherette stuffed seat. The seat is supported by the two supports of the back extending down to form the back legs and by square legs to the front terminating in squared feet on unusual ball casters. The chairs date to somewhere around 1890-1910.

The chair is 44 inches (113cm) high, 18.5 inches (47cm) wide, 17 inches (43.2cm) deep and is in a very condition other than the age related wear one would expect from a well looked after chair of this period.
