This magnificent large open bookcase has just been constructed by a master craftsman. He has used top quality European burr walnut veneers on the front & figured walnut on the sides & insides. As you probably know, we have made many of these in the past, normally made to order in any wood, size or configuration. I need to have a few examples on the site & in the shop, so people can see the quality. I did have one or two different bookcase left in the shop, but I thought I would have something different made. This bookcase has two compartments with adjustable shelves on shark teeth supports. The main difference between this one & the others, is that the inside back & sides are polished walnut veneers, which give it a smarter look. We normally have the inside ochred like they were in the original Victorian ones, which is fine if you are only going to use it for books. Having a polished veneered interior means you don't have to put just book in it. This way, does cost quite a bit more to produce, because there is a lot more polishing involved. Anyway, take a good enlarged look at all the images to appreciate the quality.
