Stunning late 19th.c. ebonised pier cabinet c.1880. Single door cabinet with magnificent tortoiseshell and brass inlays to the front, a technique known as ‘Boulle’ after the French cabinet maker André Charles Boulle (1642-1732) who perfected the method in his work for the French royal family. Arched glass panel, further brass inlays to the sides and plinth and crisply cast ormolu mouldings mounts and masks. Excellent condition, cleaned, restored and polished in our workshops. Original lining material. Key supplied.
