This fine tea caddy retailed by J Bagshaw of Liverpool has a boulle covered lid in a premiere partie tortoiseshell and brass with similar decoration around the working key. The rest of the box is veneered in ebony. Internally the veneer is rosewood highlighted with brass stringing. Unsually the box still has two preserving lids covered in zinc paper designed to preserve the freshness of the tea.
23cm wide, 12cm deep,12cm high.
