Brass Mounted Marble Top Console Table c.1840.
Beautiful late 19th.c. mahogany marble top console table of continental origin c.1840. Black marble top over a single drawer raised on cabriole front legs ending in splendid brass paw feet and a shaped plinth. Beautifully figured flame mahogany veneers and profusely mounted with crisply cast brass mounts including acanthus leaves and portaits of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. Column back legs and original mirror plate back panel. Good quality with oak groundwork and drawer linings. Tarnish to the mirror plate, otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
