Brynmawr Cotswold style oak bookcase


Cotswold style oak bookcase made by the Brynmawr antique furniture company.
This bears the label with Paul Matt's name who was the designer.
Excellent quality made of quarter sawn oak with removable shelves though they cannot be adjusted in height. The back is made of laminated oak. Offered in good condition with a small bruise to the top left as shown and a very tiny cut to the front.
The Brynmawr factory was set up the give Welsh miners work in the 1920's depression by Quakers and discontinued in the 1930s. They produced some fine furniture in a very short period.
The colour of the oak is quite pale and has a slight limed oak look about it but totally original.
Height 117cms. Width 75cms. Depth 29cms. Shelf height from bottom to top - 32cms, 29cms, 24cms. PLEASE NOTE, RED HOUSE ANTIQUES HAS NOW RETIRED.
