The piece is not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional. The fall front drops down to reveal a bank of drawers, additional storage space above, and a writing surface, making it a practical choice for modern living. A unique feature is the removable central section, which conceals secret drawers at the back, adding a touch of intrigue. Below, the escritoire boasts three spacious drawers, now adorned with later lion head handles of excellent quality. Unlike the more commonly found versions in mahogany or walnut, this Burr Oak piece stands out as an unusual and versatile addition, suitable for both contemporary and period properties.
