An excellent pedestal desk in the Queen Anne taste. Of very good construction in solid walnut with stunning burr walnut veneers. The inverted breakfront top is fitted with a sumptuous green leather writing surface, decorated with gilt tooling. The edge of the desk top is decorated with crisply carved gadrooning. There is a central long drawer flanked by two banks of three shorter, graduated drawers. All drawers are lined in solid mahogany ( a sign of quality) and fitted with their original brass handles. The two pedestals stand on elaborately carved skirts which terminate in squat cabriole legs. This desk is also finished in burr walnut to the sides and rear so that it may be free standing within a room if desired.

We have had this splendid desk sympathetically repolished to a very high standard. It is now offered for sale in excellent condition, ready to go straight into the home, or office.
