Burr Walnut Inlaid Marble Top Commode
Wonderful colour to this 19th century French burr and figured walnut inlaid marble top commode.
Very decorative with the burr walnut but unusual to find the box wood sting inlays and the four carved floral motifs to the corners, complimented by these brass drop handles.
There is a "frieze" drawer to the top and is opened using the key as a drawer pull, then the three further drawers below.
The key is original and does work in all the locks.
The shaped and reeded edge marble top is the original and in good condition.
Measuring:
38 3/4 inches or 98.5cm high
46 3/4 inches or 118.5cm wide marble top
22 1/2 inches or 57cm deep marble top Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
