A superb burr walnut writing slope with gilt mounts, the interior with ebony edgings and original blind embossed velvet slope, behind which is a secret letter compartment. The interior compartments are mahogany lined, with a working key, cut glass pair of ink bottles. The letter openers and pen are of the period.It measures 10 3/8" x 8 1/4" x 3".
