This lovely antique dresser dates primarily from the eighteenth century, although has some later alteration. It is of nice small proportions and is constructed from solid oak. It has a nice finish. The dresser consists of a base section with three drawers over a cupboard with a drawer at either side, and a top section with two shelves with plate rails. The piecfe splits in two for ease of transportation, and as the top sits loosely on the base the sideboard could be used without the top. The dresser base has panelled sides. The drawers and doors have later brass handles, and the cupboard doors retain their lovely original blacksmith-made hinges. The dresser shows signs of later restoration and alteration - the back boards of the rack, the top cornice of the rack and the base boards of the cupboard look to be later replacments / additions. The top of the dresser base has had some work.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. There are some signs of restoration and alteration. There is some wood shrinkage splitting in places, including to the cupboard doors.
