This antique alter table would make a lovely hall table. We would estimate it to date from the late nineteenth century. It has a lovely design and is very much in the oriental style. It has a wooden top with swept and scrolled edges at either side. It is supported on a wooden and rattan-work decorative base. There are no maker's marks or labels.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and the piece is overall a little faded. There is some shrinkage cracking to the top. There are some signs of restoration and repair, and some signs of old woodworm to the feet - this is not active but has been retreated as a precaution. The lower rattan shoulders are missing to one side. The piece is solid, but this is some movement in the joints.
