Carl Deffner Copper Planished Kettle c1910
For sale we have a very striking copper kettle by Carl Deffner of Essungen.
This superbly planished kettle has a very tactile ovoid body which extends to a lovely spout and hooped copper handle. The base carries the makers marks for Carl Deffner of Essungen near Stuttgart and judging by the style the kettle dates to somewhere around 1910-1920, during which the designs were stongley influenced by WMF.
The kettle is approximately 6 7 1/2 inches (16.5cm) high including the handle, 5 & 1/2 inches (14cm) in diameter and 8 & 1/4 inches (21cm) long including the spout. The kettle is in a very good antique condition other than some slight play in the upper half of the handle and one or two minor impressions.
