Carved Chippendale Style Chairs (pair)

A fine pair of Chippendale Style chairs that were likely once part of an important and grand set of dining chairs, and today remain pleasing pieces of English furniture that would work well in many settings.
The splat, of typical design after Thomas Chippendale, has some finely hand carved detail and decoration. The overstuffed seats are set upon square block legs with H-form stretchers.
Thomas Chippendale (1718 – 1779) was one of the leading cabinetmakers of 18th-century England, born in Yorkshire but later based - and eventually buried - in London.
We have reupholstered and recovered the seats in ticking fabric - a tightly-woven textile that ensures durability by hindering the stuffing from poking through the fabric.
Both in excellent condition?
Period: After Thomas Chippendale (18th Century)
