Large carved oak box settle or hall bench c.1900. Shaped top carved with a central roundel flanked with stylized leaf and flower detail. Over the panelled backrest carved with strange mythical beasts, a 16th.c. style woman’s head to the centre panel and geometric designs. Pointed tops to the rear stiles and shaped arms with carved scales to the top edge. Lift-up seat with a carved edge, lots of useful storage below for boots and shoes etc. Geometric carved panel below the seat. Solid oak sides, back panels and floor. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
