Cased Model of RMS Lucania c.1900.

1 of 6
A large antique scratch built wooden diorama of the celebrated Cunard liner RMS Lucania c.1900. The biggest, most luxurious ship of her age, the Lucania held the Blue Riband for the fastest crossing of the Atlantic (both easterly and westerly crossings) for four years.
A fabulous model of exceptional and charming detail. 26” long’ complete with rigging, anchors, lifeboats (hung from individual davits), funnels and portholes. With a crew of overscale wooden sailors, one standing lookout in the crow’s nest whist the captain points the way from the bridge. From her masts fly the flags of the Cunard line (a golden lion against a red ground), the Stars and Stripes (Cunard was an America owned company) and the merchant navy red ensign. She is presented afloat on a modelled and painted sea accompanied the Cunard passenger tender Skirmisher and two overscale wooden seagulls. In a fully demountable case with turned pillars and finials, original glass and oak trim to the base.
Overall Dimensions length 32”, width 11”, height 23”. Please contact us for more images, delivery and shipping quotes. Alternatively you are welcome to view and collect at our large warehouse showroom in Llandudno Junction, North Wales (approximately 45mins from Chester).
