Ceramic wall plaque by Taisto Kaasinen
A dramatic ceramic wall hanging comprising a picture made of 14 ceramic tiles in a wooden frame. The picture depicts a man, presumably a father embrasing a girl, probably his daughter whilst a woman, possibly the mother sits with her head in her hands. The work probably alludes to some Finnish folk tale or Greek tragedy. Taisto Kaasinen (Finland 1918-1990) worked as a designer for Ekeby in Uppsala, Sweden in the 1950s. Later he designed for "Arabia" ceramics in Finland.
