Champleve Micromosaic miniature carriage clock
This is an extremely rare and beautiful miniature champleve timepiece carriage antique clock with micromosaic panels to the side which is in wonderful original condition.
Rarely do exceptional pieces such as this appear on the open market as they are generally cherished in collections although I doubt that there are many of the quality of this particular antique clock.
Carriage antique clocks with champleve decoration have always been popular but to find an example with undamaged micromosaic panels is virtually unheard of and when you consider the mint original condition then you will realise how very fine and rare this clock is . In fact the only other (identical) example I can find sold in Bonhams Auction on 29th June 2017 , lot 84 for £6240 plus 5% import VAT .
My clock will be sold with the movement serviced by a member of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers.
I have included a selection of photographs that accurately represent the item , one of which shows the scale next to a wine bottle.
Please note the white porcelain dial which has blue and red numerals
The clock is of French manufacture dating from the last quarter of the 19th Century. It retains its original gilding and platform escapement . The movement has a running duration of 8 days.
This is 2 inches wide. The depth is 1 3/4 inches.
It has obviously been well cared for and cherished all its life.
I am unable to determine with certainty the maker but my clockmaker may find marks during the service.
This is a genuine and original clock and I offer a full money back guarantee to this end.
It is very unlikely indeed that a carriage clock of this types will appear on the open market in the foreseeable future.
If a prospective purchaser wishes to contact me directly my contact details are at the bottom of the listing.
UK buyers are asked to use alternative means of payment to Pay Pal if at all possible.
If the asking price is paid in full I will provide a 12 months guarantee and ship the clock for free worldwide.
If a lesser offer is accepted it will be considered a trade sale with the clock sold as described
I will ship this clock worldwide and we are experienced in this process
Guesstimate shipping rates are as follows
