Charles II, Joined Oak Armchair, South Lancashire/ Cheshire, Circa 1680

A Charles II joined oak open armchair, with high pierced arch shaped cresting & similar carved panel with flowers & foliage, scrolled arms and plank seat supported on column turnings.

Similar chairs are illustrated Chinnery, pp.481-483.

Provenance: Tom Burns, Rous Lench Collection, 1986, lot 746, purchased at the sale by private collector, North Cornwall
