Charles II oak side table 1680

his is a very good early side table. It is made in oak and dates to the reign of Charles II, around 1680. The side table is joined with pegs. The three planked top is pegged in to the frame beneath and has a moulded edge. The legs are turned with double ball and fillet. This design of turning came in around 1640. Thick low stretchers brace the legs. The table has a central drawer, the front held in place with the crude dovetails of the day. The oak lining to the interior of the drawer I presume is a later restoration. See photo.
This is a good small period side table. The side table has the patina of centuries of polish.
The dropper handle is appropriate for the period but is a later replacement.
The side table is 33 inches wide and 21.5 inches deep and 26 inches high.
