Chelsea Derby Fruit Themed Dessert Plate c1770

We have for sale a rather lovely fruit themed Chelsea Derby dessert Plate dating from around 1710.
This very attractive fluted rimmed Chelsea Derby dessert plate is decorated with a thickly gilded dentilled edged around a design incorporating sprigs carrying a gooseberry, black berries, a rose hip, black currents, quince, cherries and plums interspaced by three butterflies and two other insects all on a white ground. The plate carries the gilt Chelsea Derby mark to the base dating the piece to around 1770-1775 along with the a label for Felicity Marno and Antonia Agnew of Stockspring Antiques, Church Street, Kensington, London. What is lovely about this dessert plate is that the design depicts the seasonal fruit that would have been incorporated into the desserts and associated syrups of the period.
The dessert plate is approximately 8.75 inches (22.4cm) in diameter and is in a very good to excellent antique condition other than one or two scratches to the decoration and a tiny bit of surface wear consistent with 250 years of mostly decorative use.
