19th Century Chemist Drawers 26 Drawer Pharmacists Cabinet
This is a delightful piece, it has been made in to a free standing Chest of Drawers, originally it would have been fitted to a wall in a Chemist Shop, the carcass of the chest is solid pine and the drawer fronts are mahogany.
The chest has a new plinth and the sides and top have been painted, but otherwise it is quite original with its lettering and glass knobs
The chest of drawers has 16 small drawers (9” deep, 5” wide and 5” high), 6 medium sized drawers (9” deep, 7” wide and 5” high), and 4 larger drawers 9” deep, 10.5” wide and 7” high, at the bottom there is a small pigeon hole with a mirror behind, and above this a hidden compartment containing a small brass balance scales .
