Large, heavy Chinese baluster vase decorated with a very unusual background of apple green. Two large cartouches are finely painted, one showing a crane on a rock with a beautiful orange sunset and the other showing a crane on a pine tree surrounded by other lucky flowers. Four smaller cartouches each display a single flower. The pine and crane decoration symbolises longevity - ‘live as long as the pine and crane’. Dating circa 1900. Condition is good - a small kiln chip on the base.
