A late 19th century Chinese tabletop cabinet in the Cantonese taste finely carved and pierced in a pale hardwood (possibly sandalwood though lacking the smell of sandalwood) with 8 drawers. The top is mounted by an ornate carved and pierced gallery with two shelves attached to the base on two wooden pins. The base consists of a two door cupboard above two short drawers on stile feet with pierced corner brackets. The doors are particularly finely carved and pierced with central ovals containing figures in a garden with a pagoda surrounded by a scrolling foliage design. The doors open to reveal an arrangement of 6 drawers each bearing a wooden knob handle and a front carved with a branch and leaf pattern.

Condition: There are marks and wear commensurate with age though, overall, it is in very good antique condition. It does lack the side rails which would originally have connected the gallery at the back to the decorative protuberances at the front corners.
