This is an attractive mid 20th century Chinese circular hardwood coffee table with superbly carved sides standing on a ring shaped plinth with 12 short feet. The intricacy of the carving is simply outstanding, and its simulation of interwoven rope bound together at regular intervals confers a lightness to the piece which belies the heaviness of the wood. The table is probably made of Padouk, all of which is in the solid form.

Condition: This table is in beautiful vintage condition. The top has been repolished in our workshop and the sides cleaned and waxed. The construction is very robust with all joints firm.
