This fabulous and highly decorative bonsai tree stands in a turned green hardstone circular shallow pot from which the grapevine bonsai tree is displayed.

The twisting gnarly trunk is made from wire, which has been modelled with good detail in heavy pottery. Finer stems protrude from the trunk. These are also made of wire and covered with green cotton binding thread.

The grapes are carved in a green and reddish stone in natural bunches of multiple fruit mounted onto individual wires which can be adjusted for display.

The bunches of grapes hang amongst large well carved and shaped green hardstone vine leaves. Some of the stems terminate with natural twisted and trailing new climbing shoots.

This interesting piece is heavy, well made and very realistic and it is in very good original condition.
