Superb quality Qing Dynasty Chinese plant stand or lamp table made from solid Chinese hardwood (hongmu, or suanzhi wood). The round top with a pink variegated marble inset sits on an exceptionally well carved shaped apron with foliating carved frieze and open fretwork on all sides supported on carved shapely legs joined by a diagonal cross stretchers. The wood has a fabulous glowing patina throughout and is skilfully carved. The stand is in good condition of solid construction with lovely carvings, good colour and is a very functional item to be welcomed into any location.
