Superb 19th century Chinese pith gouache watercolour painting of an Empress with a young attendant from the Qing Dynasty in wonderful condition and in an attractive (possibly contemporary) red lacquered frame. The detail in the painting is astounding, particularly in the depiction of the costumes which appear on paper almost as sumptuous as the real thing. The artist's attention to detail extends to the carpet and wall decorations which are all beautifully executed.

Condition: Very good antique condition with typical minor age-related surface marks. Small tear extreme top right & bottom right. Lacquer fame is in good antique condition though some of the marbled design has rubbed.
