This is a superb 19th century Chinese barrel seat beautifully painted in famille rose enamels with dragons amongst foliage on a pale celadon ground. The pierced barrel design has typical Chinese motifs and multiple decorative borders with millefiori and Greek key designs. This is in excellent condition with no damage and only slight rubbing to the surface edges here and there consistent with age and use. A most attractive example in super order, the seat measures 47 cms high.
