Chinese Porcelain Octagonal Charger

A stunning Chinese porcelain octagonal charger from the Kangxi period (1662–1722), available through Hutton-Clarke Antiques. This elegant piece exemplifies the refined craftsmanship of the Qing Dynasty, featuring a hand-painted cobalt blue underglaze design.
The central motif depicts a serene landscape with a pagoda, trees, mountains, and small boats set against a backdrop of water, evoking a sense of peace and harmony. Surrounding this is a beautifully intricate border of floral and geometric patterns, a hallmark of Kangxi-era artistry.
While the charger is in good condition overall, it does feature a hairline crack, which does not diminish its decorative charm or historical significance. Pieces like this were traditionally used as statement decorations or for serving on special occasions, making it a timeless addition to any collection.
Height 6.5 cm, width 38 cm, depth 29 cm Customers are more than welcome to come and view and collect items from the unit in Winchcombe, Gloucestershire Gl54 5JE (appointment only). All items are checked and restored to a professional standard before leaving.
