Here we have for sale this Clarice Cliff vintage original Rodanthe pattern 6 inch side plate first designed in 1934. This Royal Staffordshire back stamp on this plate indicates that this particular plate was made around 1947.

The side plate is honey glazed and fully stamped on the back with the words 'Clarice Cliff', 'Wilkinson Ltd' and 'Royal Staffordshire Pottery' to confirm its authenticity, see photos.

This is a bright, bold and impressionistic depiction of the Rodanthe flower, deftly capturing its colour and texture. This bold style of painting and representation was synonymous with Clarice Cliff's iconic 1930s designs.
