We are offering this lovely Continental oil painting on canvas of a young lady, with blue eyes, bobbed golden hair and a very sweet expression. She is wearing a white dress with a frill around the neck, with a rose corsage at the decolletage and has been painted with a foliage background. The painting is titled and signed in the upper left hand corner, but, unfortunately, we are unable to decipher the inscription. It looks like A Gold.......................... then possible Franz at the end, so the painting may be German or Austrian.

The painting was reframed in 1990, according to a receipt that is tucked into the stretcher. We would date the painting to circa 1910-1920.

The painting is framed in a 3 1/2" gilt frame and slip, with a bronzed patterned mid section. It will be supplied wired and ready to hang.

Condition The canvas has been relined in the past and the surface is clean and taut with no stretcher marks or craquelure. The frame and slip are in very good condition.
