We are offering this lovely Still Life Oil Painting on canvas laid on board, by the Continental artist C. F. ?elsens, who has signed the painting in the top left hand corner, as is common on the Continent. Annoyingly, although the rest of the signature is clear, the first letter of the surname is not and we have been unable to definitively identify the artist.

However, the painting is very well executed, with a tall, slender vase, a silver tazza full of grapes, a peach and some vine leaves, the bases of each covered by more grapes, both purple and green and peaches. There are a couples of walnuts to the right. Although not limited in its appeal, it would make a very good addition to the ambiance of a dining room.

The painting is framed in a 2 1/4" gilt frame and will be supplied wired and ready to hang.
