A very beautiful powder compact from the 1940s. This compact is made from copper & so it is ideal as a copper / 7th wedding anniversary gift. The lid has an exquisite guilloche design with a central border that is Art Nouveau inspired. The catouche is the initials ' E M H' lightly inscribed. The letters are fine & subtle & so it does not seem to matter if these are not the initials of the recipient they have become part of this compacts history. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The mirror is very good & gives an excellent reflection. The original sifter is in place & so this compact can still be used with loose face powder. The base is decorated with a fine spiral. The whole compact is in very good condition.

The compact measures 3 1/4".
