D. M. Lawrence Still Life Oil Roses In Basket 1904

We are offering for sale this charming Still Life Oil Painting by the artist D. M. Lawrence, who has signed the painting, as shown, in the lower left hand corenr and dated it 1904. The painting depicts a wicker basker overlaid with a sheaf of red pink and white roses. The painting is extremely well composed and the roses and their foliage look very realistic.
Although we know the name of the artist, we do not know their Christian name or whether they were male or femaile, so we have not been able to discover any biographical information about him or her. The painting was framed by The City Frame Company, 34 Coleman Street, London E.C.
The painting is framed in a simple 1 5/8 inch silver gilt frame, which suits it very well and does not detract from the subject. It will be supplied with new brass hangers, new brass picture wire and will be ready to hang.
Image size: 23 1/4 x 13 1/4 inches - 59cm x 33.65cm
Frame size: 26 1/2 x 16 1/2 inches - 67.3cm x 41.9cm
Medium: Oils on canvas
Condition: Very good. The canvas is clean and taut and there is a faint stretcher mark to the left hand side. ~There is some faint craquelure to the roses, although this simply add to the shape of the petals. The frame is in very good condition.
