This rare and lovely model of two dachshund puppies playing was produced by the Copenhagen factory of 'Dahl Jensen'. The original modeller of the piece was 'Lauritz Jensen (1859-1935)', who was a renowned Danish sculptor. On his death in 1935 his friend, Jens Peter Dahl Jensen, purchased his entire model collection and reproduced some 30 of his models as 'Lauritz Jensen for Dahl Jensen'. This particular example is in excellent condition with no evidence of repair or restoration. It measures 20.5cm in length and is 16cm high.
