We are pleased to offer for sale one of a pair of watercolours by the Italian artist D. Deprosperi, who has signed the painting in the lower left hand corner. The painting depicts a typical canal in Venice, with a brick and stone bridge crossing between the buildings along the canal. the artist has caught the sunlight touching the tops of the buildings superbly. There is a covered gondola on the canal.

Although this is a very finely detailed work, we have thus far been unable to discover any biographical information about the artist, although our reference books cover British artists, the only Continental ones listed worked in Britain.

The painting is mounted with wash lines and framed in a simple 1/2" gilt frame. It is ready to hang.
