Decorative 17th Century Italian Dome Top Chest
This is a fabulous Italian dome top chest with a great decorative look dating from the late 17th century, circa 1690. The chest has an unusual angled design to the lid which has its original clasp to the locking plate. The large cast handles to the sides are a great design with Baccanalian masks projecting the cast drops and the chest has the remnants of its original Paduan (Italian) pretty rose coloured velvet upholstery and studded decoration.
A most decorative piece with such character.
A real romantic, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ look !
It measures 130 cms wide 63 cms high by 46 cms deep.
