Doulton Lambeth Vase by Elizabeth Fisher c1885


Beautifully crafted Doulton Lambeth Stoneware vase by Elizabeth Fisher c1885. Elegant baluster form with elongated neck and broad everted rim. Incised design of stylised flowers and foliage in tonal blues with applied rosettes and beading. Impressed Doulton Lambeth mark to base and design number 287. Monogrammed EF for Doulton artist Elizabeth Fisher together with assistant's monograms Ob (Emma Burrows) and MR (unknown). The vase is 24 cm in height.
This vase is in excellent original condition commensurate with age. No chips, cracks or restoration. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.
Elizabeth Fisher worked at the Doulton Lambeth Pottery from 1873 to 1888. Strongly influenced by George Tinworth, her earlier designs used incised foliate scrolls, formalised flower heads and bead-work. She later branched out, often simplifying her designs in line with changing tastes. Emma A Burrows worked as a senior assistant from 1881 to c1894. Viewing by appointment only.
