An early 18th Century japanned and lacquered chinoiserie corner cupboard, beautifully decorated with parrots, oriental landscapes and mounted huntsmen. The gilt painting is of a very high quality and stands proud of the black japanned background, making a dramatic impact. The brass butterfly hinges are original as are the interior door catches. The working lock is an antique replacement. The original back boards show sign of wear and age, but the new plates allow secure fixing to a wall. There is some surface wear as one would expect in a piece over 300 years old. The overall effect is a stunning Georgian corner cupboard that would add impact to any interior.
