Large elm box made in France in the early 1800’s.

It has a wonderful old village smithied lock on the front and a candle box inside. It has a brown varnish or paint finish, probably original.

There are some initials in the front, carved in dot form. The plinth and feet have some hand carving, though somewhat worn with use and woodworm (all treated..). The lid has shrunk a bit over the years and sits on its trim, rather than fitting neatly over the box, but it’s not a huge issue.

As a guideline, a chest of drawers to London is usually £50 and comes within 1-2 weeks. You might wait up to 3-4 weeks to far flung corners of the country. If that's too long, we can arrange another courier but that might be more expensive.

Help with larger items will be required your end, unless you pay for an extra body (not cheap..) and whilst he doesn't just dump it at the kerbside, he'll grumble if he has to do four trips up three flights of stairs, in which case, ask nicely, give him a bit extra and offer him a cup of tea..
