Early 20th C. Silver Plate Sauce Boat, Barker Bros

This is an elegant early 20th century Silver Plate Sauce Boat. The sauce boat is in Neo-Georgian style with an acanthus leaf topped handle and standing on three paw feet. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind.
The sauce boat was made in Birmingham by the firm of Barker Brothers and dates to around 1900 to 1930. Founded in 1801 by Mary Barker, the firm became Barker Brothers in 1886 when Mary's grandsons were in control. They were based in Birmingham but also had pieces assayed in Chester and London. They were very successful silversmiths and electroplaters and remained in business up until 1992.
Condition is very good with no dings or dents, no significant plate loss and just the superficial surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The sauce boat is 16cm / 6.3ins from lip to handle, 9cm / 3.5ins across the body and stands 10.8cm / 4.2ins high. It weighs 218.8g / 7.7oz.
The underside of the body is stamped EPNS for silver plate and has the clover leaf with three stars trademark for Barker Brothers.
Shipping in the UK is £6.50 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
