Here we have a fine quality Early 20th Century Silver Plate Serving Dish or Entree Dish. The base is plain with a gadrooned rim whilst the lid has a matching gadrooned rim and gadrooned handles with shell motifs. The dish is designed so that it can be used either as a single lidded dish or the lid can be laid flat to form two open dishes.

There are no makers' marks on the dish but it is stamped E.P.N.S. for silver plate, A1 for the highest grade of silver plate and England, dating it to before 1921 when Made in England became compulsory.

Condition is very good with just a small scuff mark on one corner of the lid and the superficial wear that you would expect after over 100 years of good service. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The serving dish measures 27cm / 10.6ins by 19.5cm / 7.6ins and stands 9cm / 3.5ins high with the lid in place. It weighs in at 1.25kg / 44.2oz.
