This is a good quality Silver Plated 6 Slice Toast Rack from the early part of the 20th century or possibly the very end of the 19th century.

The toast rack has an oblong base with scalloped ends and stands on four moulded feet. The arches are round with a beaded trim along both edges and the handle has a finger ring in the shape of a knot.

Condition is good with no plate loss except on the bottom of the feet, which is almost inevitable with normal use. The handle has a slight lean towards one side but this doesn't affect the function of the toast rack and it sits securely on a flat surface with no rocking. The toast rack is 17.6cm / 6.9ins long, 8.8cm / 3.4ins wide and 13cm / 5.1ins high. It weighs 246.5g / 8.7oz.

There is no makers' mark that we have been able to find.
