Early Bell String Carriage Clock - Jules Paris
We are pleased to offer this lovely carriage antique clock made by the famous maker Jules of Paris dating circa 1850 .
As can be seen from the images the clock is in excellent condition and is in perfect working order having been recently serviced
The fine quality movement of 8 day duration with outside count wheel strikes the hours and half hours on a bell and bears the makers stamp on the back plate and the dial . It is numbered 192.
The clock retains its original high quality lever escapement for which Jules is famous .It has a hellical coiled hairspring and jewelled escapement
The early one piece case is well cast and chased.The white porcelain dial is in perfect order
The clock is 6 3/4inches tall to the very top of the handle .It is 4 inches wide and 3 1/2 inches deep
I would describe the overall condition as excellent and ready to be displayed.Please note that the scratched rear glass a chipped side glass are currently being replaced by our expert glass bevellor
